Amyloid: Early-Career Reviewer Mentoring Program

2025 – 2027 Cohort

The journal Amyloid confirms that the call for applications for the 2025–2027 Early-Career Reviewer Mentoring Program is now closed and that mentees for this cohort have been selected.

The Early-Career Reviewer Mentoring Program is an ongoing initiative of Amyloid, aimed at strengthening the peer review community by supporting the development of early-career researchers as skilled and independent reviewers in the field of amyloidosis and related disciplines.

Program Overview

This structured, 24-month virtual program provides selected participants with:

  • Mentored peer review experience, including at least three manuscript reviews
  • Monthly virtual meetings, group or individual with Amyloid Editors
  • One-on-one mentorship with experienced reviewers

Participants gain a deeper understanding of the peer review process, improve their critical appraisal skills, and build professional relationships within the amyloidosis community.

Eligibility and Participation

Fellows, junior faculty, and early-career researchers in clinical, translational, or basic science fields who are interested in academic publishing and peer review are eligible for the program.

Program Expectations

  • Mentees will review manuscripts, following an initial orientation and training period.
  • All participants are expected to attend monthly virtual sessions and engage actively in program activities.

Recognition and Outcomes

Participants who successfully complete the program will receive:

  • Certificate of Completion from Amyloid
  • The opportunity to co-author editorials for accepted manuscripts reviewed during the program
  • Acknowledgment of their contribution to the peer review community
