Getting to Montevideo:
By air
The country’s international airports are served by the world’s main airlines, with regional flights from Buenos Aires, Porto Alegre, Sao Paulo, Rio de Janeiro, Asunción, Panama, Santiago de Chile and Lima. International flights also arrive from Europe to the new Carrasco International Airport. From Carrasco International Airport you have easy access to downtown Montevideo and destinations on the east coast, with direct buses to both points. It is also possible to hire a transfer, take a cab, take an Uber or rent a car at some of the car rental companies located at the airport.
Waterway
Numerous ship and ferry frequencies link Buenos Aires with Montevideo and include the possibility of transferring automobiles. The company Buquebus offers a direct ferry from Buenos Aires to Montevideo in approximately 2 hours 30 minutes.
